When your people are running on empty, performance follows. There is a measurable way to change that.

Most organisations start with initiatives like resilience training, mindfulness, or stress management. These can be valuable — but the effects are often short-lived. When the nervous system is under sustained strain, even good skills become inaccessible. The strategies stop working precisely when they are needed most.
What is often missing is not more technique. It is a stable internal foundation from which technique can actually operate.
HeartMath is an evidence-informed approach to self-regulation, grounded in more than three decades of research into heart-rate variability and heart-brain coherence.
The practical implication is straightforward: physiological regulation affects how people respond under pressure — and that capacity can be trained. Trained employees do not just feel better. They respond more clearly, recover more quickly, and maintain access to the judgement and relational awareness that pressure tends to erode.
In our work with organisations, this is not taught as theory, but as a measurable, repeatable practice that people can apply under real pressure — not just in training sessions.
"Stress is not a mindset problem. It is a physiological one. HeartMath works at that level — which is why the results are measurable, not merely reported."
— Alan Strydom, Emergent Edge SAWhat follows is a record — drawn from measured interventions across South African organisations between 2012 and 2018, using the POQA-R4 assessment tool at baseline and post-training. The results have been consistent across different industries, workforce profiles, and levels of seniority.
The group's self-reported stress score fell from 65 to 31 — moving from the high-stress band into the low range. The same organisation returned for two further cohorts in 2018, with consistent results across all primary POQA-R4 scales.

Data you can trust — not feedback forms or self-reported perception
We use the POQA-R4 — the Personal and Organisational Quality Assessment — to establish baseline stress profiles before training begins, and to measure change afterwards. Every engagement begins with a conversation, not a proposal. We want to understand the specific pressures your people are navigating before recommending anything.
Organisations that want to go further with people in leadership roles. Some begin with resilience training for the wider team and follow with HeartMind Leadership for those carrying responsibility for others. This sequence tends to produce the most durable results.
